Dennis Ryan

Dennis Ryan

Dennis Ryan is the President of the company. After graduating from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, (NAIT), Dennis worked for the Alberta Government as an Occupational Hygiene Technologist for six years. During that time he achieved an occupational hygiene technologist designation (i.e. OSHA). A few years later he graduated from the University of Alberta's, Occupational Health & Safety Certificate program. Dennis has managed health and safety programs in large corporations for over 25 years. He’s taught for the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering, and continues to teach, safety professionals and/or prospective safety professionals at the University of Alberta (U of A), The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT), and other institutions. For many years he sat on the committee responsible for overseeing the University certificate program.

Dennis is a CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional). He is an accredited auditor for five certifying partners and instructs the external auditor training course at the U of A and NAIT.

Many people agree that you don’t really know it until you’ve done it. Dennis has done it. He has achieved success as a health and safety professional and, as a consultant he has helped hundreds of clients.

Janie Ryan

Janie Ryan

Janie joined Compass in 2001 and is a valuable addition to the company. She is a graduate of the Occupational Health and Safety program at the University of Alberta and is currently working towards her C.R.S.P. designation. She is an accredited auditor for four certifying partners. She has helped many companies develop their health and safety program and under her guidance they have achieved their Certificate of Recognition from the Alberta Government.

Janie is also a trainer. She’s delivered program and train the trainer sessions for the Alberta Motor Association (AMA) in it's Mission Possible @ Work program. She currently delivers Professional Driving Improvement courses and other training programs such as WHMIS and Safety Basics.

Compass employs a number of other very competent health and safety professionals on an as needs basis. No project is too big for Compass Health & Safety Ltd.
